It is reported that the Shanxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology formulated the Three-year Action Plan for the Development of Photovoltaic Manufacturing Industry in Shanxi Province (2020-2022) to build a national photovoltaic industry base.

Shanxi's unique lighting resources and the transformation demand of energy province promote the development of photovoltaic industry. It is estimated that the annual sunshine of the province is more than 3,000 hours, and the sunshine percentage is between 50% and 60%. It is a high value area of solar energy in China.

In recent years, with the construction of photovoltaic Forerunner base and the implementation of photovoltaic poverty alleviation pilot projects, the province has become a hot spot of photovoltaic power generation in China. In 2019, the main business income of photovoltaic manufacturing industry in the province reached RMB 8.7 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 36.15%.

Shanxi will also further optimize the policy environment, increase support for key enterprises and major projects in the photovoltaic industry, and create an ecosystem of photovoltaic manufacturing industry chain.

According to the action plan, the operating revenue of photovoltaic manufacturing industry in the whole province will reach RMB 13 billion yuan by 2022. The province will increase the financial support for technological transformation, R&D investment and achievement transformation of photovoltaic enterprises through provincial technology transformation funds, digital economy and other special funds. At the same time, they will implement the preferential electricity price policies for strategic emerging industries in the province, and form a electricity price "depression" with comparative advantages.
